Security Certificate Help
Security Certificate Update
On May 7, 2020, the National Student Clearinghouse will renew the SSL certificate that encrypts all data exchanged via our production site, secure.studentclearinghouse.org. Because Student Self-Service relies on secure server-to-server communications, our SSL certificate renewal will impact the ability of your system to communicate with the Clearinghouse’s systems if your school does not download and install the certificate.
Action By May 7, 2020
It is CRITICAL that your school’s system administrator acts before May 7, 2020. This routine procedure, which should only take a few minutes for your system administrator to complete, will ensure your students have uninterrupted access to Student Self-Service after May 7, 2020.
Please download the following certificates and add them to your trust store:
- Root Certificate – DigiCert Global Root CA
- Intermediate Certificate – DigiCert SHA2 Secure Server CA
- Studentclearinghouse.org – Certificate
Action In 2021
ACTION in 2021: The Clearinghouse will require all schools to migrate to our secureapi.studentclearinghouse.org link in February 2021. To simplify the migration for your school next year, we suggest you migrate to the secureapi URL (secureapi.studentclearinghouse.org) this year.
To upgrade to secureapi.studentclearinghouse.org, download the following certificates and add them to your trust store:
- Root Certificate – DigiCert High Assurance EV Root CA
- Intermediate Certificate – Thawte EV RSA CA 2018
- Secureapi.studentclearinghouse.org Certificate – NSC secureapi certificate
If you need technical assistance from the Clearinghouse email us at CertHelp@demo.studentclearinghouse.org.
