Clearinghouse Elects New Board Members and Leaders at Annual Meeting
The National Student Clearinghouse recently selected new board members and leaders at their Annual Meeting for the 2019-2020 term. Board members are elected for up to two, three-year terms. Visit the Clearinghouse’s Leadership web page for a complete list of board of directors.
“I am grateful for the service of all of our new and former board members, especially during this time of innovation at the Clearinghouse and within education,” said Rick Torres, President and CEO, National Student Clearinghouse. “The board members provide a treasure trove of education and life experience to guide the Clearinghouse to advance our mission to serve the education and workforce communities and all learners with access to trusted data, related services, and insights.”
In addition, current board members, Nikki Krawitz, former vice president for finance and administration for the University of Missouri System and now retired, was elected as the Clearinghouse’s new Board Chair, and Dr. Monty Sullivan, System President, Louisiana Community and Technical College System, as the new Board Vice Chair.
The new Clearinghouse board members are:
- Debra Chromy, President, Education Finance Counsel
- Michael Collins, Vice President, Jobs for the Future
- Rob Fitzgerald, University Registrar, Brown University
- Joe Garcia, Chancellor, Colorado Community College System
Clearinghouse board members whose terms are ending:
- Heather Kim, Director of Research, The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation
- Belle Wheelan, President, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges
- Sandy Baum, Senior Fellow, Urban Institute
The National Student Clearinghouse is governed by a board of directors comprised of a cross-section of the constituencies that it serves, including representatives from educational institutions, educational associations, and the education finance industry. The Clearinghouse’s board reflects its status as a trusted, neutral, and reliable source for educational information and services.
